DAP's Wong Shu Qi named election director for GE16 and Johor Elections
Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi has been appointed as the election director for the 16th General Election (GE16) and Johor Election, according to DAP vice-chairman Teo Nie Ching. This appointment comes as the party prepares for both the Sabah Election and the aforementioned elections.
In her speech at the Johor DAP convention on November 2, Teo emphasized Wong's capability to lead the party during GE16 and the Johor Election, suggesting a potential concurrent schedule to save time and resources. Teo also noted that Wong, who is also the party's assistant national publicity secretary, will be supported by a team including Stulang assemblyman Andrew Chen, Johor DAP secretary, state DAP vice-chief Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali, and Johor Jaya assemblyman Liow Cai Tung, state DAP organizing secretary.
Additionally, Teo mentioned that the state committee will be aiding Sabah DAP in their state election, which is scheduled for later this month. They have appointed Johor DAP education director Alan Tee Boon Tsong as the polling agent/counting agent director for their efforts in Sabah.
Teo further added that a team of over 20 members will be sent to assist Sabah counterparts, and the party will sponsor flight tickets for those willing to contribute to the campaign for at least seven days. Sabah's election schedule includes nomination day on November 15 and early voting on November 25, with the main election set for November 29.
