Get ready for a groundbreaking announcement in the cruise industry! Villa Vie Residences is gearing up to unveil a new luxury brand, temporarily named Project Lumina, with an ambitious plan to acquire and transform a cruise ship into a floating residential paradise.
Currently, Villa Vie operates the Villa Vie Odyssey, a 1993-built vessel accommodating 970 guests, as a residential cruise ship on an endless global voyage. But here's where it gets exciting: they're expanding their horizons!
The company has appointed Chris Cox as the president of Project Lumina, a new venture within the Villa Vie brand. Cox's role will be pivotal, overseeing a range of critical tasks, including acquiring the vessel, designing the ship's conversion, and developing sales, marketing, and partnership strategies.
The private residences on this new ship are set to be a real estate dream, with ocean-view units starting at $539,999 and balcony suites from $899,999. And this is the part most people miss: the company has already begun pitching this investment opportunity to interested parties, including current residents on the Odyssey. A bold move, but will it pay off?
Kathy Villalba, co-founder and CEO of Villa Vie Residences, expressed her enthusiasm: "Project Lumina is our next big step, and Chris Cox is the perfect leader to take us there. We aim to enhance our offerings while ensuring the exceptional daily experience our residents cherish on the Odyssey."
Chris Cox shared his vision: "The market craves genuine residential ocean lifestyles, and Project Lumina will deliver. We'll create exquisite homes that cater to diverse tastes, from affordable world travelers to ultra-luxury seekers."
Interestingly, Cox's previous venture, Crescent Seas, had a similar concept but didn't materialize. Now, he brings his expertise to Villa Vie, leaving many wondering: Will Project Lumina succeed where Crescent Seas couldn't?
Villa Vie assures that the Odyssey will continue to receive dedicated attention, maintaining its status as the company's flagship contemporary residential ship. But can they successfully manage two distinct residential cruise experiences?
