Leonard and Creative Director Georg Lux Are Splitting Ways

PARIS — After nearly five years together, Leonard and its creative director Georg Lux have decided to part ways, the French label announced on Monday.

The brand said it would soon reveal the framework of its new artistic direction.

Lux’s final collection for Leonard will be the pre-fall 2026 line, and the label will not stage a show for Paris Fashion Week’s fall 2026 season. Leonard plans to return with a spring 2027 runway in October.

Yuichi Nishi, president of Leonard Paris, praised Lux for capturing the brand’s essence with bold creativity, noting his artistic sensitivity and deep understanding produced collections of notable elegance.

Lux himself expressed gratitude for the opportunity to draw from Leonard’s heritage, engage in a dialogue with its legacy, and contribute his own artistic perspective.

The Paris-based German designer took over from French designer Christine Phung in January 2021. He remained at the helm as Leonard shifted ownership when the Tribouillard family’s founding stake sold to longtime partner Sankyo Seiko in July 2022.

During his tenure, Lux revived the brand’s runway presence, while mixing Leonard’s archives of historic prints with global influences and a touch of retro flair.

Leonard’s Spring 2026 collection drew inspiration from California, bursting with pastel tones, bold motifs, and vintage ’70s silhouettes.

Lux’s next move has not yet been disclosed.
