Blackhawks' Laurent Brossoit: Conditioning Assignment to AHL, Trade Possibilities (2025)

Blackhawks place goaltender Laurent Brossoit on a conditioning assignment with Rockford of the American Hockey League, announcing the move on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old is returning from offseason hip surgery and also missed the entire previous season after undergoing a meniscus procedure on his right knee.

With Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom currently manning Chicago’s net, Brossoit could become a valuable trade target for teams seeking goaltender depth.

Brossoit signed a $6.6 million, two-year contract with the Blackhawks on July 1, 2024. In 23 games with Winnipeg during the 2023-24 season, he posted a 15-5-2 record, a 2.00 goals-against average, and a .927 save percentage.

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Brossoit carries a career line of 64-46-13, with a 2.64 GAA and a .911 save percentage over 140 NHL appearances. His stopovers include stints with Edmonton and Vegas as well.
