In a tweet, Tim Kane, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, excitedly announced, 'Applying for a visa from Pakistan just got easier!' He shared a link to the Australian Department of Home Affairs website, where a comprehensive guide awaits. The website emphasizes the app's convenience, stating that eligible applicants can provide their passport information and a facial image effortlessly.
To utilize the Immi App, applicants must possess a 'Requirement to provide personal identifiers (biometrics)' letter with a Visa Lodgement Number (VLN) starting with 'AUI' or 'AUH' and hold a valid passport. Additionally, the mobile device should have location access and near-field communication enabled, along with camera permissions for the app. The process is straightforward, with a five-step guide available for guidance.
Once the biometric identity check is completed, the app securely transmits the applicant's passport details and facial images to the Department of Home Affairs.
