Apple's Upcoming Launches: MacBook Neo, iPad, and More! (2026)

Bold opening: Apple is rolling out a wave of new devices, and this week could redefine how we think about the Mac lineup, iPads, and even home tech. But here’s where it gets controversial: will these launches stretch Apple’s ecosystem too thin, or will they finally deliver the balanced, accessible options many users have been hoping for?

Apple has already introduced six new products this week, with one more day of unveilings expected. Here’s what’s anticipated for the remaining reveal as Apple prepares its in-person press gathering.

New ‘MacBook’ or ‘MacBook Neo’

Today Apple announced refreshed MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, but there’s talk of a third MacBook variant on the way. A new entry-level MacBook, possibly named the MacBook Neo, is anticipated to be unveiled on Wednesday.

Reported features and price range:
- Around $699 to $799
- A18 Pro chip
- 12.9-inch display
- 8GB RAM
- Fun, iMac-like color options
- Aluminum chassis

In essence, this would be a budget-friendly MacBook designed to appeal to the vast market of PC and Chromebook users who already own an iPhone. Our colleague Chance Miller will be on-site in New York City to provide a hands-on look at the new MacBook.

iPad with A18 chip

In the days leading up to this week, expectations have centered on a base-model iPad powered by the A18 chip. Apple has already announced an iPad Air with the M4 chip earlier this week, so it’s possible the standard iPad might be saved for later shipping.

Nevertheless, an unveiling on Wednesday remains plausible. Why it could pair well with the affordable MacBook:
- Both would use the A18 chip
- Both are entry-level in their respective lines
- Both would offer a spectrum of fun color options

Additionally, Apple has been spreading Mac announcements across multiple days, so a similar strategy for the iPad isn’t out of the question.

The A18 chip would enable the base iPad to support Apple Intelligence for the first time, unlocking AI image creation features, enhanced writing tools, and upcoming Siri upgrades, among other capabilities. Beyond the chip, the iPad is expected to maintain the familiar design and features of its A16 predecessor. There are whispers of an N1 wireless chip appearing in more devices this week, continuing Apple’s trend of chipset integration.

Wildcards: New Home products

If there are any surprise releases, they’re likely in the Home category rather than reiterations of the MacBook or iPad.

Possible launches include a new Apple TV 4K and a second-generation HomePod mini, both of which were rumored for a fall debut but did not arrive. Another hot topic is the long-rumored HomePad or HomePod Touch, speculated to be tied to Siri’s AI overhaul.

My read is that the Home lineup may be in a holding pattern until Siri’s upgrades materialize. Based on current reporting, we could see a spring launch aligned with iOS 26.5 or perhaps a WWDC reveal in June.

Bottom line: while a surprise Home product could appear, the likelihood of multiple Home devices launching this week seems low.
